Fragment of a court document concerning the debt owed by Mr. Patterson to Edward Crawford: "George the Second by the grace of God and the Sheriff of Cumberland County greeting We [ ] Patterson late of your county of Cumberland in the province of Pensilvania [ ] want of buyers as you yourself returned before on [ ] last past you expose to sale & the money thereof of [ ] lawfull money of Pensilvania you have before [ ] be hold the eighteenth day of April [ ] for his debts collected against him as also three [ ] Edward Crawford in our same court were [ ] the delention of that debt, whereof the said & same [ ] the writt Witness Fran[ci]s West Esq. at Car[lisle] [ ] year of our reign"
